Fun with Google Apps!
Searching in Gmail
By now most of you have gone into your new Gmail accounts and begun using your basic email. You have begun trying to do some of the same things you did in Outlook, but it is not quite the same. Google has a very robust search function. Unlike Outlook you cannot organize your inbox by sender, subject, etc., however you can search by sender, subject, etc. Here is a short video explaining how this is done. I hope you find it helpful.
Beyond the Basics of Gmail - Would you like a little more information on the capabilities of Google Drive?
(formerly Google Docs) click on the link below for a tutorial on the capabilities of this App.
How do you get to Google Drive? Click on the checkerboard and then click on the drive icon.

Do you want to jazz up your email screen and make it all about you?! Try adding a theme to your account.
Click on the link below for a quick tutorial on how to do this.
When choosing a theme - check out these really cool options:
Tiny clock icon in the lower corner indicates that your theme changes with the time of day.
Tiny sun icon in the lower corner indicates that your screen will reflect the current weather in what ever location you choose.
Three little tiny blocks in the lower corner of the theme template indicates that it is a small slide show of multiple backgrounds that you are choosing in that theme.

What are Labs?
Here is a useful video to introduce you to Labs. Warning his intro is a little weird, but the video content is good on how to use labs to enhance your Gmail.
Are you feeling chatty?
Check out the chat function with your Gmail. You can text chat, voice chat, and video chat with this feature.
Click on this link and learn a little about the chat feature with Gmail.

Are you tired of being a blue head - would you like to add a picture to identify yourself when you chat or with your emails? It is easy - go to your gear icon, choose settings, choose general, and then scroll down to the add a picture feature. FYI - remember this is a business account - whatever photo you choose must be appropriate for a business setting, if you choose a photo that is not appropriate, DoIt does monitor these and they will remove it!
Do you have questions? Put them in the chat box below and we will work to get you some answers!
