MPS Gratitude

November is a month of gratitude. On Veterans Day, we thank those who served in the past for their service to our country. During the Thanksgiving holiday, we give thanks for the good things in our lives.

In the early months of 2020, tokens of appreciation (see photos below) were distributed at the annual in-person Town Hall meetings. The idea behind these tokens was to pass them throughout MPS to those we appreciate and are grateful for. On the tokens, there is a beaver. Beavers are a sign of ingenuity and persistence. Despite the challenges these animals face, both natural and manmade, they continue building until they are successful. In many cases, beavers positively impact the environment and help to create a more sustainable world. When the pandemic reached a level that made it unsafe to hold in-person classes, we were not able to hand out the tokens to all staff members around the state or to pass them on to one another.

Because we were not able to share and pass these tokens of gratitude in person, we want to give MPS employees the opportunity to share thanks and appreciation virtually. If you have worked with someone this year (virtually or in person) who has positively impacted the workplace, the agency, or even influenced you and would like to show your gratitude for their work, their friendship, or simply their presence, please share it in the comments to this post.
