5/16- Lunch & Learn: Nature-Informed Resiliency Building 


5/21 -Wildlife Handling & Response Training - 10- 2 p.m. 

This training is an excellent opportunity for both field and administrative staff to gain valuable knowledge and improve their ability to assist the public with wildlife-related concerns. This class, combined with the wildlife firearms class will allow staff to assist with dispatch at their park.


    


Non-MPS Trainings: 



DNR HR is excited to announce that applications are now open for Cohort 3 of the Supervisor Training and Engagement Program (STEP), which will start June 18!

STEP is designed to prepare new supervisors and to help existing supervisors with managing teams. Participants will develop their skills to challenge and prepare them for higher levels of responsibility.  Employees that currently supervise other employees are eligible to apply for this program and can either apply themselves or nominate a co-worker. Those selected will participate in weekly meetings held from 9am-12pm on Wednesdays at Tawes starting June 18th and ending September 3rd.

Our mission is to help you reach your professional goals and realize your full potential in every aspect of animal training and educational programming. These are intensive workshops designed for Professional Zookeepers, Trainers, and Wildlife Educators.

Workshops will be held at our new Training and Education Center in Winter Haven, Florida at our 34-acre facility that is home to over 70 species of animals. Attending a workshop at the NEI training facility is the best way to learn the art and science of animal training.  Each attendee receives personalized attention from our staff of experts, as well as note guides and files that they can take home to share with their co-workers.
