| | Earn Professional Development Points Learning about Freedom and Citizenship in the Early Republic | | | MCHC is excited to host our annual teacher institute Liberty and Justice for All?: Freedom and Citizenship in the New Republic.
This two-day experience designed for upper elementary, middle, and high school educators focuses on Mid-Atlantic history from approximately 1775 to 1815, focused on the Revolutionary era to Early National period. Scholars and presenters will broach themes of enslavement, freedom, and citizenship for Black Marylanders and other politically marginalized groups such as women, Indigenous People, and the working class. A $10 registration fee covers light breakfast, snacks, and lunch for both days and a walking tour.
