This virtual training aims to help staff - 
• Recognize characteristics of unusual
behavior to determine if someone has
ASD/IDD and discuss behaviors that can
easily be misinterpreted as threatening
or aggressive
• Learn strategies for communication/
language processing and de-escalation
• Understand the impact of sensory
issues
• Identify wandering and elopement risks
and learn search strategies

• Review reasonable accommodations
Our professional trainings cover the characteristics of
ASD/IDD as they relate to communication strategies,
sensory issues, social interaction and behavior; de-
esclation techniques; reasonable accommodations;
and other job-specific relevant information.

The Yale Forest Forum kicked off with its first session on January 20th.

The third and final installment of the Yale Forest Forum forest history speaker series explores the profound transformations that have reshaped forestry over the past 50 years and examines how experts are imagining the future of forests and forestry.

February’s safety focus is Hazard Communication (HAZCOM).

HAZCOM is about making sure employees understand the chemical hazards they may be exposed to at work — and know how to work safely around them.

At its core, HAZCOM covers:

  • Identifying hazardous chemicals

  • Understanding labels and pictograms

  • Knowing where to find Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

  • Following safe handling and storage practices

Throughout February, we’ll share simple ways to reinforce hazard communication and keep chemical safety top of mind.
