MPS Trainings:

Pet First Aid & CPR for First Responder

This course offers a blended curriculum of Pet CPR & First Aid and pet oxygen mask training. Because first responders are already trained in bleeding and wound management, we will cover the topic as a refresher. The time saved by reviewing the material rather than teaching skills for the first time will allow us to supplement Pet CPR & First Aid with a discussion about proper sizing, cleaning, and oxygen flow rates for pet oxygen masks. The training focuses on cats and dogs, but it teaches people how to think about the anatomy of an animal so that they can work their way through determining the proper application of CPR. I have been able to apply the knowledge and skills from this class in my own life to treat cats, dogs, birds, fish, and even resuscitate a frog!

  • Upon completing this class, first responders will feel comfortable performing CPR, applying an oxygen mask, and performing rescue breathing for both cats and dogs.

Training includes a step-by-step format for CPR, management of heat and cold injuries, choking, snake bites, shock, bleeding control, and more.

Class Type: Lecture, Demonstration, Hands-On Skills
    Class Length: 4 hours
