Projects On Which We Can Collaborate

  • Maryland 250 - Is your park hosting an event, program, or other celebration to celebrate America's 250th birthday? Let us know! (POC: Sandi, Isabel & Emily)

  • Maryland’s Best AgriTrails - Our office has partnered with the Maryland Department of Agriculture/Maryland’s Best to create and promote themed experiences that pair outdoor recreation with local agricultural businesses. This collaboration began with the Hike the Ice Cream Trail campaign in 2024 and 2025, which pairs hiking trails with nearby creameries in a family-friendly challenge to earn prizes by visiting as many stops as they can between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The Ice Cream Trail will return in 2026, alongside two new initiatives: a bike and brew trail that links cycling routes with breweries, and a Shuck, Stout, and Paddle, which pairs water trails with local oyster farms and affiliated restaurants. We’ll be reaching out to park staff for trail recommendations and input on communications - thank you to all who have already helped with the ice cream trail! Please contact us if you’d like to partner or share ideas. (POC: Emily)

  • Trail Etiquette Campaign - With the development of the eBike Regulations to guide their use on state lands, our office is working with OCM to develop a trail etiquette campaign. If your state land is hosting an event around trail etiquette or bringing different user groups together, please let us know! Also, please see the eBike Regulations FAQ here. (POC: Sandi & Isabel)

  • Outdoor Business Directory - Help us map the outfitters, guides, and retailers that fuel Maryland’s Outdoor Recreation Economy! We're building a statewide database of outdoor recreation businesses to improve communication and collaboration with external partners and make it easier for the public to find guides, retailers, and rental providers based on location and activity. Do you know of businesses currently operating in or near your park? If so, please let us know so that we can ensure that they are included in the database. (POC: Emily)

  • Social Media Campaign - The #OutdoorsInAllFourSeasons social media campaign is put together by OOR with OCM and works to highlight recreation around the state throughout the year, if you are having a cool recreation-focused event or program, let us know! We're always looking to amplify these opportunities as available. (POC: Isabel & Sandi)

Intra-Agency Projects - Our office has taken the lead on some projects that cross between different units. For example, the eBike Regulation, which spanned NRP, MPS, Forestry, Wildlife & Heritage, LAP, OOS & the Office of the Attorney General. Following the chain of command, please loop us into cross-unit projects! (POC: Isabel, Emily & Sandi)

ADHD makes it harder to get things done consistently and to meet others’ expectations. But just how productive do you really need to be? At what point is the extra stress and effort not worth it?

Strong self-esteem and solid relationships are a balance between generosity and assertiveness — taking good care of others and yourself. We will discuss how to decide which tasks to take on and how to negotiate any differences of opinion. Join this webinar to learn:
  • How past struggles and failures can cast a long shadow on what you allow others to expect of you.
  • How to think about what you want to do in certain situations.
  • How to evaluate whether you have the social capital in a relationship to offer something other than what the other person prefers.
  • How to act with integrity — be good to yourself and others, especially when it’s hard.
  • Why people-pleasing rarely pleases anyone.
